Matthew Barnaby's Fight Card
1. March 10th, 2004 vs. Ethan Moreau
Edmonton Oilers - 00:57 of the 2nd Period
Comments: When the camera gets there, they trade some
weak punches, hard to tell what landed because of the angle.
Barnaby gets control and Moreau is ducking. Then Barnaby
lands several rights to the back of Moreau's head as he is
ducking.
Moreau tries to throw some more, but is winded and the
linesmen
come in.
2. March 14th, 2004 vs. Brad Ference
Phoenix Coyotes - 11:25 of the 1st Period
Comments: They go in the corner behind Boucher. Matt
takes off
his helmet, then Ference does the same since he wears a
shield.
Typical Barnaby fight off the bat, nice and slow paced with
Ference
getting some decent shots in. They trade rights and lefts,
nothing major
until Matt lands a big left handed uppercut. Brad just held
on from then
on in. The linesmen then come in to break it up.
3. March 25th, 2004 vs. Darren McCarty
Detroit Red Wings - 10:13 of the 1st Period
Comments: They both drop em and start swinging. Toe to
toe at the
start and McCarty landed a wicked punch. It stunned Barnaby,
they
started to grapple, McCarty got a few more in, Barnaby tried
to answer,
and the linesmen stepped in. Barnaby was covered in blood.
4. April 22nd, 2004 (Playoffs) vs. Mark Smith
San Jose Sharks - 18:25 of the 3rd Period
Comments: Smith was being held by Boughner while
Stuart tried to rip
people off, and Barnaby threw a cheap shot. He then throws a
few more
to a turned around Smith. Smith rights himself, and answers
back with a
few shots. They break away, and start talking. Barnaby takes
a good jab
from Smith and then Barnaby and Smith are both chucking
rights. Each
one throws four or five rights in a short fury of action, but
none of the
punches land solidly. After the flurry each player tries one more right
and
neither one seems to land well. Barnaby gets Smith's jersey over his
head and the
ref comes in to break them up. After the ref is between
them, Smith gives Barnaby a
shove to the face and its over.
Other Penalties: Barnaby received an instigator
and misconduct;
Curtis Brown and Ossi Vaananen each received a misconduct.
